Dongdaemun Design Plaza by Zaha Hadid
I wandered around the new Zaha Hadid design plaza today in Seoul, and I was impressed with the external forms despite how impractical in execution the buildings’ interiors may be in providing a display space for modern and contemporary design. I most enjoyed how the curvilinear lines of Hadid’s structures were juxtaposed with the exposed archaeological angularity of the medieval Joseon Korean buildings excavated during construction.
